Boca Grande on Gasparilla
On the picturesque Gasparilla Island, perched above Florida’s Southwest Coast, the Boca Grande Club’s redesigned second-floor restaurant offers more than just a dining experience. It embodies the serene charm of the island, artfully blending coastal tranquility with refined luxury.
At the heart of the restaurant’s aesthetics lies Cumberland White Oak hardwood flooring, in a select grade with 7” (178mm) wide planks with lengths up to 12’.
The soft shade of Cumberland was chosen to reflect the natural elements of the area, and locally sourced materials. Its driftwood-inspired tones mirror the treasures washed ashore along the beach, creating a seamless connection between the indoors and the stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico. The warm, natural hardwax oil finish not only invites comfort but also reinforces the harmony between the design and the surrounding landscape.

The vision for this project revolved around immersion—connecting guests to the coastal serenity through every detail. Designed with wellness in mind, the space prioritizes relaxation and connection.
Floor-to-ceiling windows frame breathtaking sunsets, flooding the space with golden hues during the day and soft, ambient light in the evening. Every texture, from the speckled carpets evoking sunset skies to the beach-inspired lighting pendants, was selected to enhance this sensory journey.

The restaurant’s layout maximizes the location’s unparalleled views while accommodating diverse guest needs. Whether dining in cozy alcoves or lounging in open areas, every seat ensures a front-row view of nature’s evening masterpiece. Even design challenges, like incorporating existing stairwells and a vaulted ceiling, were turned into opportunities to add unique character and functionality to the space.
This project, brought to life with contributions from TA Krebs Architect, Bowen Construction, Quality Carpet + Flooring, and Hunter Construction, demonstrates how thoughtful design can elevate any space. Cumberland hardwood flooring, with its natural elegance, underscores the entire vision, providing not just a surface to walk on but a foundation for a truly immersive coastal dining experience.
