The Woolsey fire posed a significant threat during the framing process, with flames sweeping through the exposed structure. Despite losing key materials including doors, windows, and city-approved blueprints, the project persevered. The resilience shown during this period is mirrored in the durability and robustness of the materials chosen for the home, including the decision to use metal siding, provided by Longboard Architecture, that mimics wood for added fire resistance.

One of the unique aspects of this project was the need to create private, functional spaces for the homeowners. The design features tall ceilings in the main living area, enhancing the sense of openness and grandeur, while smaller, closed-off spaces offer the privacy required for video conferences and focused work.
