A Focus on Craftsmanship At IDS18

This year we wanted to share some of the things we found inspiring and that we could connect with for their craftsmanship, authenticity and attention detail, something we take great pride in when it comes to creating specialty wide plank floors.

Bloomsbury Kitchens

A boutique company crafting custom cabinetry, Bloomsbury’s attention to detail and passion for the fine art of English-style cabinetry is impeccable. Bloomsbury offers a truly bespoke experience from the design process right through to the crafting and installation of your custom kitchen. Each custom kitchen is crafted on-site at their Newmarket, ON location where they have complete control over the process to ensure the finest construction, quality and fit.

We really enjoyed working with Bloomsbury to provide them with Tucson, one of our Iconic wide plank floors, that worked with this stunning kitchen on display at their booth.

Bosendorfer Pianos

Bosendorfer pianos are obsessively crafted for the ultimate piano sound experience and not to mention the design aesthetic details that make these instruments so unique. Dedicated artisans craft each piano with passion and when you add on the natural drying process of the wood used in these pianos it takes 6 years from start until the finish when it arrives at your doorstep. As they say “Bösendorfer offers you a vast yet precious selection of instruments for your surroundings and taste. Your sole limitation: space.”

Seen here on display at IDS 18 is an Oscar Peterson signature edition piano, 1 of only 12 worldwide.

1925 Workbench

A family business that is passionate about woodworking and design, 1925 Workbench came to life when they had a need for a sliding barn door in their own home. Since the hardware wasn’t readily available, they made the hardware themselves and shortly later 1925 Workbench was born. Their understanding of the trust involved in creating custom pieces for clients makes workmanship, the use of top quality materials, local production, and exceptional service their core principles.

On display at IDS 18, 1925 Workbench showcased some examples of their beautiful barn doors and hardware.

Charuk & Ford

Founded by Chris Charuk and Simon Ford, Charuk & Ford was launched at IDS 2018. Their handcrafted pieces are made with the utmost consideration and care using materials that reflect their commitment to product durability while minimizing environmental impact. Their solid wood pieces are finely crafted from sustainably harvested North American White Oak, celebrated for its durability and beautiful grain structure.
